It has a ceramic-coated hot plate that provides dry, even heat across the entire surface - and it has an automatic shut-off function, so you can use it without any worries. The press is a great addition to the Cricut Maker™ 3 cutting machine (article no. 72153) - and is the mini version of the Cricut EasyPress® 3 EU (article no. 74152).
