This is our lowest viscosity silicone oil best suited for applications requiring a thin, fast-spreading layer of lubrication or protection against friction, moisture and corrosion. Being a light-weight oil, this is commonly used in high-speed lubricating applications requiring consistent performance in varing environments and temperature ranges. Suitable Applications: Silicone oil regardless of viscosity has many excellent characteristics that make it one of the best choices to use as a lubricant, protectant and polish. For example, silicone oil has low surface tension allowing it to spread easily and lubricate hard to reach places. Although most applications do not require a specific viscosity, you'll find this lower, 100 cSt silicone oil (comparable to 10 WT) to be most suitable for the following or similar applications: » Sewing machine lubricant » Smooth key lock operation » Fix squeaky car door windows » Improve guitar string performance » Create beautiful, small acrylic art cells » Lubricating and protecting airguns While we recommend using 100 cSt silicone oil for the above applications, using a slightly thicker 350 cSt silicone oil will also work well and maybe preferred by some users.
