This beginner class welcomes those with little to no glass experience. Over the course of four weeks, students will deepen their understanding of borosilicate glass, as well as the tools and techniques used to create beautiful hand blown objects.
Michael Dickinson, born April 23, 1994, works from his home studio on the Bay Area Peninsula where he fabricates primarily hollow form art and sculpture using borosilicate glass flameworking techniques. His work has been inspired by the growing contemporary glass and STEAM movements of the California art scene, as he incorporates gold and silver fume implosions into a unique expression of chemical reactions within his glass. Drawing from the fluid movements in nature, he continues to experiment with bringing that quality, from a molten state, to a solid formation of artistic articulation.
