Featuring a hand-lacquered barrel inlaid with colorful abalone shell pieces—a traditional Japanese technique known as raden—this pen is truly a work of art. Like other Vanishing Point pens, it features a comfortably-weighted brass body with a convenient and smooth-writing retractable nib that extends with a push of the top knock button. The pen comes with a gift box and one black ink cartridge. A metal cartridge cap is also included, for covering the ink cartridge to protect it from the nib retraction mechanism. A converter is not included. Notes: This pen’s fine nib may feel scratchier than fine nibs from other Pilot fountain pens. Over time, the pen may show signs of wear on the lacquer finish.
