Ampersand Gessobord is made using Ampersand’s “True Artist Hardboard™ and Archival Seal™ technology”. The cradles are hand built with premium grade 13-ply birch plywood which allows for maximum stability and a clean finished look. The superior gesso ground used does not dull colours and the lightly sanded surface provides an exceptional brush control. This surface is acid-free, non-yellowing, archival and perfect for all painting styles and approaches.

The Ampersand Gessobord is a pre-primed painting panel that has a semi absorbent gesso primer and a slight fine grain texture to its surface. The panels themselves are 3mm deep allowing for ease of storage and framing. The panel is perfect for use with Oil & Acrylic Paints, it can be used with most mediums including Modelling Pastes, Gloss & Matt Mediums and Texture Gels.
