For Paint: Use these texture combs achieve a variety of paint grain striping effects. For best results, practice before applying to final project. [1] Apply basecoat color. Let it dry. [2] Mix contrasting color with a glazing medium to extend drying time. Apply enough glaze color on top of basecoat so that the basecoat color barely shows through. [3] While still wet, pull comb across surface, cutting into paint with enough pressure to reveal basecoat underneath. Let dry before applying a second coat for a criss cross or plaid.
